Great place for a long trail run. 16 miles of Boy Scout trail and that was just doing the perimeter of the place, so I'm sure there's plenty of good stuff inside too. Springbrook parking lot and facilities at trail head are also really good

So pretty all year round. The kids love the nature observation building. Great spots for camping and the rates are very reasonable. Bring a bike or good walking shoes and hit the trails.

This is by far my favorite metropark in the toledo area. It boasts tons of trails and woodland areas to explore. They offer areas to rent out for the day, with grills and covered picnic areas. Oak openings also has halls that can be rented out for private functions. The pond, and sand dunes are some of my favorite areas. There are massive playgrounds for children and a learning center to educate kids about nature.

Great park with a lot of different ecosystems to explore. We spent the day and only hiked two trails. The blue loop was called the ferns & lake trail approximately 3.7 miles. The second loop was the Orange trail markers and was called the evergreen trail which was approximately 2.5 miles. Will definitely be heading back to explore the many trails we were not able to hike today. Worth the 1.5 hour drive for us. Oh and the fall colors were just starting to show.

This is a magnificent "park" and a hidden gem. Oak openings has lots of multi use paths both paved and unpaved. The sand dunes are such an unusual surprise for this area, and supports a wide variety of plant life, including cacti that grow along the Cannonball-Wabash trail and in various other places. The lodge is comfy and a nice place to gather with fiends.
