My girlfriend and I were looking to book a live aboard cruise in the Bahamas, and figured that using a travel agent would make life easier. Boy was I wrong!
Really? The only purpose of having a travel agent is to make trip planning easier and to deal with issues as they arise - something that seems lost on them. The owner also chimed in saying it was our fault and refused to acknowledge the misinformation that was given.
We ended up paying an additional $2,000 because of the travel agent misleading us and giving us the wrong information on our lodging and when the diving would actually start. Their response was to blame my girlfriend for the mix up, and say they could no longer help us.
For that, she may be right. Our fault for trusting them with our travel, and I advise you to avoid them like the plague. You are better off just booking a trip directly, or using a reputable travel agency that understands customer service.
